Sgt Justin L Noyes, Detachment 1294

The Sgt Justin L. Noyes Detachment 1294 stood up on 19 Jan 2008. The Detachment is named in honor of a Vinita, Oklahoma Marine, Justin L. Noyes, who was killed in Iraq while defusing an Improvised Explosive Device.

noyesSgt Justin Noyes joined the Marines in August 2000, and on 2 July, 2006 he was killed in the line of duty. He was with the Explosive Ordnance Company, 1st Marine Logistics Groups of the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force based at Camp Fallujah, Iraq. He served one tour in Iraq as an infantryman, then trained in Ordnance Demolition in Okinawa, Japan before his second tour in Iraq. Sgt Noyes was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart.

Meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month
at 1900 at the Meals on Wheels building in Claremore.
