I was born number 4 of four boys to Navy parents in San Diego and lived in Bremerton, WA and all along the Southern half of Idaho graduating from Minico High School in Rupert, ID. Reported to Boot Camp in the Summer of ‘83 to become a Hollywood Marine complete with shades and ear balm. After graduation I began my wander across the United States first stop Millington, TN to become a jet engine mechanic specializing in the power plant of Harriers. Upon graduation of that 11 week school, I reported to duty in Yuma, AZ to begin my career as Air Winger. I didn’t stay in Yuma long, only 15 months, I thought I was getting orders for a Westpac cruise. Instead I was sent to Cherry Point, NC where I spent the remaining years of my first tour. At Cherry Point I received special training in flight line and ordnance point security. I was promoted to Corporal while I was attached to PMO and was awarded the honors of the Corporal of the Guard. I value all the training I received while in the Marine Corps. I furthered my passion in aviation at Cheyenne Aerotech receiving my A&P License which gave me the opportunity to work for American Airlines in Tulsa, OK for 30 years now.
Joining the Albert E. Schwab Marine Corps League in Tulsa in 2011, I have served as Paymaster, Sergeant at Arms and helped establish the Color Guard. I established the MCL booth at the Gathering on Main Street in Owasso to spread the word of benefits of the Marine Corps League and the organizations it supports such as the Coffee Bunker, the Young Marines and the many JROTC units in the Tulsa area. After my 1 year membership, I was invited to become a Devil Dog which is a high honor of the Marine Corps League. As a Devil Dog we support MCL functions with the goal of funding children’s charities across the nation. My positions held within the Green Country Grunts Devil Dogs include Police Dog, Jr. Vice Pound Keeper, Sr. Vice Pound Keeper and Pound Keeper. For the Dept. Of Oklahoma Devil Dogs I currently serve as Jr. Vice Pack Leader.
Currently I am focused on supporting the Justin L. Noyes Detachment of Claremore, OK serving as Sr. Vice Commandant and working on recruitment and improvement of outreach to the community such as Toys for Tots, Food Truck Thursday and Shooting events. I have been honored to receive in 2015 the Schwab Detachment Marine of the year and subsequently the 2015 Dept of Oklahoma Marine of the Year award. In 2018, I received the honor as Marine of the Year for the Noyes Detachment. For the Department of Oklahoma I am pleased to be elected as Jr. Vice Commandant for 2018.
